How to Play Kickbase

Your Guide to Live Scoring, Lineups and Captains

How Scoring and Lineups Work

Kickbase turns real MLS match action into fantasy points. Passes, duels, shots, assists and goals all count toward your score. Your points update live while matches are being played.

How does Live Scoring work?

Kickbase tracks 100+ in-game actions during every MLS match. Each action converts into fantasy points instantly. Your score and ranking update live during the gameweek.

What's in a player profile?

Every player has a profile with the fantasy data that matters: injuries, performance, market value. Use it to decide whether to start, bench, or buy.

Lineup rules to know

  • Empty position: −100 points for each empty spot in your lineup

  • Negative balance: if your balance is below zero when the gameweek starts, you get zero points for the whole gameweek

Captain Feature (Arena & Rush only)

In Arena Mode and Rush, pick one captain each gameweek — their total points get doubled. Negative points are doubled too, so choose carefully.

Example: player scores 100 points → as captain, that's 200 points.

Playing Classic Mode? No captain to worry about — every player counts at face value.

Double Gameweeks

Sometimes a team plays two matches in the same gameweek. Players from that team score points from both. Huge for your captain pick if you're in Arena or Rush.

Tip

Check lineup predictions, player form and injuries before every gameweek. Smart lineup calls are often the difference in Kickbase.
