What's the biggest difference from MLS Fantasy?
In MLS Fantasy, one gameweek covers multiple matches across several days. In WC Fantasy, each matchday = one gameweek.
You build a brand new 6-player team for the games played that day.
Example: Matchday 1 includes Mexico vs. South Africa and South Korea vs. Czech Republic. You build a team for those two games. When the day ends, a new matchday begins – and you start fresh.
How long is the season?
From the group stage all the way to the Final – every World Cup game counts across 34 matchdays.

How does the rolling lockout work?
Your lineup locks at kickoff of the first game of each Matchday.
After that, no changes can be made for that matchday.
⏱️ A countdown timer in the squad builder shows exactly how much time you have left.
After lockout, you can start building your team for the next matchday right away. Those players won't be scored until the next lock begins.
How does a player's market value change?
Performance drives value.
Playing well → more fantasy points → value goes up
Underperforming → value may drop
Starting values are set manually by the Kickbase Fantasy Center team. Throughout the tournament, values update manually or automatically after each matchday – once per week at the end of each matchday.
Values can also be adjusted on a case-by-case basis – for example, if a player gets injured or team dynamics shift unexpectedly.
How does a player's position affect their score?
Goals, assists, and clean sheets are worth different amounts depending on a player's real-world position.
Example:
Goal by a forward = +80 points
Goal by a defender = +100 points

Important: Players are scored based on their real-world position as tracked by official data partner Opta – not the position assigned within Kickbase. Pick your lineup carefully.
How are stat corrections handled?
Kickbase partners with Opta for official analytics. Opta re-checks every game multiple times after the final whistle – stats and points may update as the matchday progresses.
Final point totals are official one day after the last match of each Matchday.
What is the Captain feature?
Tap any player in your squad and turn the "C" toggle ON.
Your captain's points are doubled every Matchday. Negative points are doubled too – choose wisely. ⭐
