How it works
Classic Mode is Kickbase's deepest strategic experience. You're not just picking a team for one day — you're building a squad over a full season, trading on the transfer market, reacting to injuries and suspensions, and making lineup calls every gameweek. Every trade, every bid, every tactical decision compounds over time.
Creating your league
Open the League tab
New here? Tap "Create League." Already in a league? Tap your league name → "+ Add League" → "+ Create New League"
Select your competition
Choose Classic Mode
Pick your setup: Default or Custom
Default Setup
Want to play right away? Default uses balanced settings: League format scoring, standard 11-player lineups, and a $50M starting budget. The easiest way into a Classic rivalry.
Custom Setup
More control over how your league runs:
Ranking Mode
League format — total points across the season decide the winner
Head to Head — weekly matchups. Win = 3 pts, draw = 1 pt, loss = 0 pts. Capped at 18 managers.
Starting Squad
Random Draw — start with a $100M squad plus a supplemental budget ($30M, $50M, or $80M)
Start Empty — no players, bigger war chest to build from scratch ($150M, $200M, or $250M)
Advanced Settings
Player Limit per Club — cap how many players from one club a manager can own, or leave unlimited
Squad Limit — set the max roster size
Achievement Bonuses — money rewards for milestones (separate from Daily Bonus and Matchday rewards)
Underpay — allow bids up to 6% below market value
Finishing setup
Add a league photo, name, and description. Choose Private (invite-only) or Public. Once live, share your invite link from the League tab.
Running your league
Activity & Admin Tools — your feed for transfers and achievements. Admins use the wrench icon to award bonuses, undo transfers, or manage settings
Transfer Market — bid on players, list your own, or quick-sell to Kickbase. Your balance can never drop below 33% of your total squad value
Squad & Standings — drag players into formation, follow live scores, track the table
No Captain Feature
Classic Mode doesn't use the Captain Feature — every player scores at face value. Want double points on your best pick? That's an Arena and Rush feature only at the moment.
