Seasonal Mode and Rush Mode
Kickbase offers two main game modes. Both use real MLS matches and live scoring, but the way you play and compete is very different.
This article gives you a quick overview to help you decide which mode fits you best.
Seasonal Mode | Play the full season
Seasonal Mode is Kickbase’s classic fantasy experience. It’s perfect if you want to compete over an entire season, either with friends or in a long-term league.
In Seasonal Mode, you can:
• create or join a league • play with friends or the wider Kickbase community • manage your squad across the full season • follow live scoring on every gameday
You can play in:
• private leagues with friends • public leagues with other managers
You also decide how your league champion is determined by choosing a scoring format:
League format Total points across the entire season decide the final ranking.
Head to Head Each gameday, you face one direct opponent. A win earns you three points, just like in a real league table.
Seasonal Mode is all about consistency, smart squad building, and long-term strategy.

Rush Mode | Fast, competitive challenges
Rush Mode is quick, competitive, and ideal if you’re looking for instant action.
Instead of committing to a full season, you compete in weekly challenges against thousands of managers.
In Rush Mode, you can expect:
• building a squad for a single gameday • the same fixed budget for all managers • new challenges every week • rankings, rewards, and progression
Rush is designed to be fast. Building a team usually takes just a few minutes, but the competition is intense.

Which mode should I play?
Play Seasonal Mode if you:
• want to compete with friends • enjoy long-term leagues • like building and managing a squad over time
Play Rush Mode if you:
• prefer quick competitions • enjoy weekly challenges • like climbing rankings and earning rewards
You don’t have to choose just one. Many managers play Seasonal Mode throughout the season and jump into Rush Mode for fast competition in between.
